Hi, I’m Kendall. I’m 31 years old and just got my very first piano—which I’m thrilled about. Honestly, I get excited about most things that fall under the umbrella of “cute” or “cozy.” I taught myself guitar at 17, back in high school, and I’ve been freezing cold ever since, which probably explains my obsession with quilts. I live in Chicago (when I’m lucky enough to be home), and I love it—so much so that I sometimes want to roll my windows down and yell, “I LOVE THIS TOWN!” into the streets. Totally normal, right? Oh, and a quick heads-up: if I ever try to wink at you, it will probably look like I’m blinking through a sneeze. My forever lucky number is 13. It shows up like clockwork whenever something amazing is about to happen. I’m a Leo, so I’m wired to chase newness—plus I throw a summer-themed birthday party every year. I have a thing for bright colors and whimsical vibes. I’ve collected an unreasonable number of ribbons and headbands. I love them all equally. I’ve always been an over-thinker, over-planner, and over-organizer—probably since I was a toddler. A very tall, very talkative toddler. These days, I’ve tried simplifying life by sorting my thoughts into two categories: “Things I can change” and “Things I can’t.” It helps. Sort of. Okay, fine—I still overthink everything. I write songs about the messy, beautiful, confusing rollercoaster that is love. I’ve come to realize that no one really knows what they’re doing when it comes to love—and maybe that’s the point. It’s wild, chaotic, frustrating, magical, and completely worth writing about. Growing up crept up on me without warning. And while I’ve added new favorites to my list, I’ve held onto the old ones too. I still adore winter and hang lights in September. I still journal, wear dresses on random days, and daydream under chandeliers. Newer loves? Mismatched everything. Colors, furniture, people—there’s beauty in the chaos. Sometimes I perfume my life with scents from my high school days and suddenly I’m back—hunting for parking spots, trying not to embarrass myself in front of the soccer team, secretly dreaming of winning a Grammy. I love crumbling old buildings, the quiet peace of solitude, and anything that makes me feel like a kid again. Chocolate milkshakes and fries still fix everything. I’ve been working on an album called Passion for the past two years. It’s filled with real moments from my life—some you might’ve witnessed, and some you definitely haven’t. Music gives me the courage to say the things I couldn’t in real time. I’ll never truly change, but I’ll never stay exactly the same either. Maybe that’s the Leo in me. And hey, if you’ve read all of this, thank you. That’s four minutes you could’ve spent doing literally anything else, and you chose me. If you’ve listened to even one song or watched a video—thank you. I love you the way I love sparkles and winning arguments: endlessly and unapologetically. —Kendall
